This year, Born This Way Foundation’s Kindness in Community Fund is made possible through the generous support of:
The Kindness in Community Fund provides grants to community-led, youth-focused organizations supporting mental health. To help identify our next cohort of grantees, we’re inviting young people to tell us about organizations doing this important work in their country.
This June, Sephora is celebrating pride by supporting youth mental health through the Kindness in Community Fund. From June 1 through June 30, $1 USD from every Haus Labs product purchased at Sephora (or the equivalent in local currency) will be donated to Born This Way Foundation’s Kindness in Community Fund. Sephora’s goal is to support grassroots organizations leading the way and creating positive impact for the LGBTQ+ community.

Young people have stated clearly their need for proactive mental health support. Born This Way Foundation will provide grants to fund free, accessible, community-informed resources to support youth mental health. Born This Way Foundation requests nominations from young people themselves, of tax-exempt organizations, non-profits, NGOs, and similar types of organizations based in the above listed countries that are focused on mental health, and:
- are informed and/or led by young people,
- are rooted in practices of community, inclusion, and equity at all levels, and
- provide free and accessible mental health resources.
Born This Way Foundation aims to provide funding in the spirit of partnership and through a process that is as simple and impactful as possible. As such, Born This Way Foundation will vet nominated organizations and a shortlist of nominated organizations will be identified by our Youth Advisory Board, a global group of young people ages 15-24. Shortlisted organizations will then be invited to submit a streamlined grant proposal summarizing how they would use the funds. Grant sizes will be based on the proposals submitted, up to $150,000 USD per organization.
How To Nominate:
Our hope is for our work to always be led and informed by young people’s perspectives first. We’re especially eager to receive nominations from young people between 15-24 years old about the local mental health organizations making a difference in their communities, and we will place greater weight on the nominations they submit. Please submit organizations via THIS GOOGLE FORM (the “Nomination Form”).
