What Does Love Bravery Mean To You?

It takes bravery to love. It takes bravery to open yourself up and accept the people around you for exactly who they are. That is what the Love Bravery fashion line is all about. Empowering everyone to be brave and choose love and compassion over anything else.

This fall, Born This Way Foundation partnered with the Elton John AIDS Foundation to launch a Love Bravery fashion line with Macy’s to encourage men and women everywhere to live with compassion.

During the launch event we had the opportunity to meet many supporters of the Love Bravery line and what it stands for. Meet Jessica, who works to live with compassion and love everyday.

Q: What does Love Bravery mean to you?

A: I think that the words are interchangeable. You need one to accomplish the other. In order to love you need to be brave.

Q: Can you give an example of being kind or brave?

A: Being in customer service, we are constantly encouraged to go the extra mile, but that applies to life also. If you integrate going the extra mile into your daily life and choose to be a kind person it is unbelievable what doors will open.  Choose to be kind, genuine, and compassionate in your life no matter what situation you are in.

Q: What inspires you?

A: Knowing there is someone out there like Lady Gaga who understands that having support is such an important part to being happy in life. Someone like her who encouraging everyone to be their true selves no matter what. It’s just knowing that if you don’t have support she will be there to support you and encourage you to keep moving forward and pursue your dreams.

Q: What do you do if you’re having a bad day?

A: I remind myself that bad days happen. Without the bad days you wouldn’t enjoy the good days. So I try to focus on the good things I have and just get through it. This isn’t the end all be all. Bad days just make me stronger.

There are so many stories that we hear, just like Jessica’s. Stories that encourage us and remind us that we are not alone. That everyone has their ups and downs and that if we choose love and compassion we can all help each other. We want to  hear from you! We want to hear what Love Bravery means to you, examples of how you live bravely and what inspires you to get through those rough days. Share your stories here.
